A broad white serving surface and exposed-clay edge give the round Cheese Stone its distinctive simplicity. A small hanging hole completes the paddle-like outline. Two sizes suit a compact cheese selection or a more generous arrangement, keeping the attention on food and the pottery beneath it.

“Leaving white space around the cheese is my preference, so each piece can be cut without disturbing the whole board.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Suitable for the microwave, oven, freezer and dishwasher. Wash with mild dish soap and a soft sponge, or place securely in the dishwasher with space between pieces. Dry fully before stacking; a soft separator helps protect rims.

For oven use, keep temperatures at or below 450°F. Avoid the broiler, stovetop and direct flame, and let the pottery warm and cool gradually. Do not move it straight from the freezer or refrigerator into a hot oven, or place a hot piece on a cold or wet surface.

Maker / Heritage

Founded in Woodstock, Vermont, in 2012, Farmhouse Pottery brings a working potter’s eye to everyday housewares. Founder James Zilian’s training in ceramics and years designing for Simon Pearce inform the restrained shapes; English studio pottery and the Japanese idea of wabi-sabi inform an affection for visible process and small variations. The signature Silo forms take their lines from Vermont’s farm silos, pairing white glaze with revealed clay. From that starting point, the collection extends into complementary tools and textiles, chosen to make a useful, tactile whole at home.
